We worked specifically with the Houghton Chapter of Little Brothers. Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly (LBFE) is a national network of non-profit, volunteer-based organizations committed to relieving isolation and loneliness among the elderly. In order to do this it connects elderly community members to volunteers as well as organizing events and entertainment. However, keeping track of all volunteers, visits, and pertinent information can be quite challenging - especially given the scope of operations. IT Oxygen created a highly customized solution which tracked volunteer and elderly friends, including their preferences, needs, and individual interactions. While this software was highly customized to Little Brother's needs, a modification of it would be useful for a more general client/volunteer interaction and matching.
